SOMETHING FOR CHRISTMAS

Christmas is just around the corner. I blinked and before I knew it, it was 4 weeks away.
If you are finding it hard to find the perfect gift for that someone special, why not look at making something.
I know it can sometimes be frustrating and time consuming, but the end result is just amazing.
We've just received a shipment of large round tins.
You can fill these with chocolates, home-made rum balls, shortbread and so much more.
Easy to cover you only need 4 sheets of paper, 2 if you don't want to cover the inside.
I will even throw in my own template so you can cover around the handles and latch without throwing it across the room.
If you feel you don't have the time to make one of these gorgeous tins, why not give me a call
and I will happily do the job for you.
Get in quick as these are limited.
Happy scrapping ladies...

FIRST BIRTHDAY

Our First Birthday was on Saturday 13th November and we celebrated with not only a Garage Sale but also lots of store wide specials plus all those goodies that come along with having a Birthday Party....

With the introduction of a new product by Joy, Stella Edwards was kind enough to give the
ladies a hands on demonstration of molding flowers.

These flowers come on acetate which you cut out and then by using a tea-light, soften the flower and then mold it into shape on your mat with your shaping tool.

So popular, these Joy molded flower sheets walked out the door. But it's ok if you missed them, I am getting more in along with the molding tool and mat.

After a very successful day with people buying lots of goodies at the Garage Sale along with the store wide sale, we were finally able to relax with a lovely piece of cake along with a cool drink.
I would like to thank all of those wonderful ladies who travelled up from brisbane, who travelled down the coast, the lovely ladies from a major wholesaler along with my loyal customers a big
'THANKYOU'
for all your support over the past year.
I can't wait to do it all again next birthday..

happy scrapping...

MELBOURNE CUP DAY

Melbourne Cup day is nearly upon us and everyone will take that 5mins break to watch a race that stops a nation.
.....but at Scrapping on the Avenue we will be not only listening to the race but also scrapping with a free circle of friends day.
I decided to put up some pics of a top hat I made a few years ago for a melbourne cup hat day.
The top hat was made with Black Bazzill and I used 3/4" strips of black & white cardstock for the checkered look. It went together quite well. I added some ribbon around the base and put some black rhinestones around to give it a nicer edge on the rim.

I even paper pieced the horses rear end and layered his tail to give it a bit of depth. I also love heidi grace large white flowers so I couldn't resist putting one on the side.
Don't forget to make a booking for tuesday if you would like to come to the circle of friends crop.

Good luck ladies, I hope you back a winner....

WEDDING DAY LAYOUT

Hi Ladies,
I have been a bit slack of late with the blog and I apologise, with a big move things are now getting back to normal so there will be alot more posts going up.
Here is a layout I did a while back using KaiserCraft papers. I love black & white photos as you can do so much more with them when it comes to using papers.
No worrying what colour is going to match the dress etc.
The layout only consisted of 3 double sided papers. I trimmed out 1" lengths to use as borders,
as well as cut the middles out of the larger mats so I could back the photo's.
The main photo has been pop dotted up to give it a bit of depth, plus I am going through "pop dot everything" stage..
I wanted a "Vintage" feel when it came to embossing the chipboard letters. I finally achieved the look by slightly burning the gold embossing powder with the heat gun.
It turned out fabulous.
Layering flowers is the only way to go and when you get two(2) colours that go great together, you can't help but just layer, layer, layer. I added a black brad to each center to keep the
black & cream colours going.
Why not use the sketch below to make your own layout.
Goodluck and happy scrapping ladies....

OFF THE PAGE

Scrapping on the Avenue does alot of request work for those who don't have the time or have never scrapbooked before.
I received an order for two(2) albums of my choice for a baby girl and a 2yr old boy.
The only instructions I received was pink and brights.
So here are the two(2) albums that are now on there way to Adelaide.
I thought that Making Memoriees Pitter Patter Sophie Papers would be ideal for the baby girl album. I used the I-Top tool to make maching buttons for the center of the flowers...aren't the just gorgeous..
For the boy I thought that KaiserCrafts Jungle Bug papers would be perfect for that little boy. At the age of 2 I am sure he would be in the garden digging up worms and looking for bugs...

I used strips of the co-ordinating papers to make paper ribbons to slide their photo's behind. This way the whole album flowed from beginning to end. Don't you just love th cut out butterfly I've put in the center of the flowers.....

If you would like a one of a kind piece why not contact vanessa at Scrapping on the Avenue on

No job is too big or too small...
